The final SSCDS concept developed by the SSCDS Mechanical Engineering team was awarded first prize in the Mechanical Engineering section of MSU Design Day! Our engineering team was up against projects ranging from home appliances to automotive systems. The final design proposed by the students demonstrated an 80% reduction in waste compared to the original MSU SSCDS design. In the video posted below there was only 16 oz. of waste from a spray application of 160 oz! This is within the realm of typical chemical waste produced by tractor based sprayers.
